The popularity of candles increases during the holiday seasons because they make such great gifts. There are many seasonal candle fragrance selections.
But don’t think only of Christmas. Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter all stir our memories with special smells. Even the seasons – Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall have smells associated with them.
For Mother’s Day candles, think light, floral fragrances like gardenia, lily of the valley, jasmine, rose and plumeria.
For Valentine’s Day you might want to consider some of the designer fragrances. But what else do you think of for that special day? Chocolate! You can find candles scented like chocolate, chocolate fudge, chocolate brownie. A chocolate scented candle shaped like a candy kiss would be a perfect gift!
For Fall and Thanksgiving, I love the food and baking scents. Pumpkin spice, apple pie and caramel apple are some of my favorites. They make me think of crisp autumn days, colorful trees, burning leaves and of course, Thanksgiving dinner baking in the oven.
Christmas candles can be any fragrance, but there are certainly special scents associated with this popular holiday. Any scent that has evergreen will bring back memories. Baking smells are an excellent choice – try gingerbread, sugar cookie, fruitcake. Beverages like mulled cider, champagne, egg nog can stir up Christmas memories. Spice, cinnamon and peppermint are also popular.
These are just a few suggestions to get your creative thinking going. Why, there are dozens of scents just in the evergreen category, so chances are you’ll find a fragrance that will jog memories of your favorite holiday.
