Beeswax

Beeswax candles are probably the closest you can come to completely natural candles. You may have seen these candles made from rolled sheets, or as tapers.

This wax comes from the hives of honey bees (makes sense, doesn’t it). It has a natural, honey-like fragrance so it doesn’t need additional scent. It’s natural color ranges from yellow to brown, depending on the type of flowers the bees have pollinated. So it doesn’t need color added either. Combined with a natural cotton wick, your candles will be completely natural!

This fragrant wax is often added to other waxes like paraffin to improve the consistency and burn quality. It burns cleaner than paraffin, with little visible smoke, has no harmful chemicals or synthetic materials and the candles also drip less and last longer than paraffin candles.

Finally, this wax is a renewable resource! As long as bees make honey, there will be beeswax!
