Soy Candle Wax

I love working with soy candle wax.

It’s easy to work with and the candles turn out great. They burn forever, they produce little smoke and they smell fantastic! Most of my loyal customers love soy candles as well. But why should you love soy candles?

Soy candle wax is made from soy beans, grown by American farmers, so when you buy soy candles you’re supporting farmers in the United States. (Learn more about soy beans at soy-bean.org.) Soy wax is biodegradable , so it’s better for the environment. It’s also easier to clean up after those occasional mishaps and spills. (Even though soy wax cleans up with soap and water try not to drip the wax on your furniture.)

Soy wax has a lower melt point than other waxes, which means your soy candles burn longer.

Soy candles are cleaner burning and produce less soot than paraffin or gel candles, so your walls, furniture and air stay cleaner. However, if you’ve read that soy candles don’t produce smoke, that’s not entirely accurate. They produce less smoke, and whiter smoke.

Soy candles are made with the same excellent scents that you’ve come to love and expect. The fragrance will fill a room better than candles made from other waxes.

I can’t find many negative things to say about candles made from soy wax.

Okay, here’s a negative! I usually make my soy candles in jars because I haven’t had any success making free-standing pillars. But that’s not a problem for my customers. And eventually I’ll get it right!

And sometimes soy candles have a tendency to ‘frost’. That’s when the candle has white areas, similar to the light spots you see on chocolate. This frosting doesn’t affect the way the candles burn, and I haven’t had any complaints. In fact, that’s a sign that the candles is pure soy, without any additives.

Neither of these has been a problem for folks who simply want a super candle that smells great and lasts and long, long time!
